USA Gymnastics president Li Li Leung, who led the bankruptcy-plagued organization, is asking $1.25 million for the NYC home

This is a different kind of flip.

USA Gymnastics president and CEO Li Li Leung and her husband, Christopher Smits, are listing their home on Central Park South in New York City for $1.25 million — down slightly from the $1.29 million she asked in June.

They bought the one-bedroom residence, which is in the Southmoor House apartment at 230 Central Park South, in 2015 for $1.23 million — just over the $1.1 million it asked for, after a bidding war.

That same year, Leung and Smits had returned to the United States after living abroad for about 10 years, where Leung’s accomplishments while working for Zhou Marketing, for a time, included helping the NBA establish itself in China .

As president and CEO of USA Gymnastics, Li Li Leung coordinated a settlement with her sexual abuse victims. She also created an all-female executive team, according to reports, and led the scandal-plagued company from bankruptcy. In 2019, she was an NBA executive when she left to become president and CEO of USA Gymnastics.

Leung is also a former gymnast. She was 7 years old when she started playing sports.

The apartment is approximately 800 square meters and comes with high ceilings and an open plan living and dining area.

The well-lit, fourth-floor space features floor-to-ceiling windows, and the king-size bedroom comes with a large walk-in closet.

Details include beamed ceilings, along with an updated bathroom, a windowed kitchen, refinished floors and new lighting.

The 17-story Art Deco building, which dates back to 1937, comes with 66 units, according to StreetEasy. Building amenities include a concierge, a gym, a laundry room and a bike room.

The listing broker is McKenzie Ryan of Douglas Elliman.
